Dr. Carlos Alfonso Negret Mosquera is the Honorable Chairperson of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). Dr. Mosquera, who has been the Ombudsman of Ombudsman’s Office of Colombia since 2016, was elected by the regional networks of GANHRI to the position of the chair during the General Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. He is also a lawyer with a specialization in International Human Rights Law from the Universidad Alfonso X E1 Sabio University in Spain. He was also a member of the Disciplinary Jurisdictional Chamber of the Superior Council of the judiciary, Consul General of Colombia in Chicago. He also is an advisor to important institutions such as ICBF - the Invias and the Comptroller General of the Republic.
