Mr. Govinda Sharma Paudyal is the Honorable Commissioner of National Human Rights Commission of Nepal. His major works include promotion and protection of human rights, Law implementation of the recommendations of NHRC Nepal, Human Rights Education, coordination with NGOs, and other Civil Society organizations of Nepal. In his official capacity, he has contributed significantly in the human rights discourse of Nepal. He is responsibly empowering the women members of the newly formed Local Judicial Committees (bodies formed at local level to settle disputes through mediation or regular judicial process) through training at local level. He was a practitioner lawyer (a Senior Advocate) at the Supreme Court of Nepal,Prior to his appointment as the Commissioner at NHRC, Nepal.
